Yup, it was just a SERE reference.

    Just a rant

Fyi, that poem has a deeper and alternate meaning to most of us with wings than what you realize. It's an inside joke that can't be accurately explained unless you have literally been there, done that.

    Worst parts of Naval Aviation

The caveat, being senior shore patrol is actually a pretty sweet deal. Hotel paid for by the boat, your own car, also paid for by the boat, per diem, and you "have" to go check out and verify all those shady single mom dance joints that end up getting blacklisted...or so I've heard

    Wiley X Fingerless Gloves discount?

Stiffer than issue new, broken in they are pretty much the same. I prefer the Wiley x personally as the leather is much thinner but in terms of durability I've worn the OR gloves doing house remodeling stuff and yardwork and they still are holding together great.

    Wiley X Fingerless Gloves discount?

I have a pair of the OR gloves and they are sturdy as hell. Lose some tactile feel but solid gloves. Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk 4

    SECNAV Criticizes 'Blueberries'

I did wear utilities, the uniform definitely WASN'T broke, and it was a helluva lot better than these shitty NWU's. And yes, it is the XO's job to worry about uniforms. Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk 2

    SECNAV Criticizes 'Blueberries'

Having worn both the old dungarees and utilities, I can say that all the reasons you've given are superficial at best. They were more comfortable, easier to maintain, and all around better than NWU's. The only semi-valid complaint about utilities and dungarees was they couldn't be worn out in...

    SECNAV Criticizes 'Blueberries'

I never said it was entirely the Marines fault. What I did say, and regardless of why the other branches wanted camouflage, is the Marines basically wouldn't share their ball with the other kids. Again, doesn't excuse the other branches designing stupid stuff but, as we would say in Naval...

    SECNAV Criticizes 'Blueberries'

Of course, if the Marine Corps didn't wank, bitch, and moan about other services copying their pattern then maybe this mess would've been resolved a long time ago? That doesn't excuse the other services from going full retard on their designs but to remove all culpability from the Corps is a...

FULL DISCLOSURE - Does HSV 2 (Genital Herpes) Disqualify from Marine Flight school

Naval Aviation is a place where new guys DO NOT show up and immediately have 'street cred' or unwavering respect. You have to earn what you get, this profession is ultimately about life and death and you have not proven yourself one bit to any vetted member, which are people with wings. We can...

    No more stickers...FINALLY!

They tried getting taxes from me, guy I talked to was being especially difficult. I told him that if he forwarded it for action I'd personally sue him. No more problems with them trying to get taxes from me.

    No more stickers...FINALLY!

In California there is no rolling old age cutoff. Post 1976 cars had some sort of smog equipment and thus require a smog inspection. Pre 1976 don't have smog so don't get tested.

What if pay day falls on a Monday?

Everyone has their own quirks, I get that. I wasn't busting your balls over that. My point, I grew up on a farm that raised animals as well as produce. If you are that concerned about the packaging and cross contaminating the food at a market you should probably start growing your own food...

Stupid Questions about Naval Aviation (Part 3)

Guys in back wear them. A few pilots have the snaps installed but don't wear them. Like you said, up front with aircraft in trim it's not really an issue anyways.

    Shotgun Advice

Yeah, my point was more in the sense that a nice 12 gauge with 20 gauge inserts will basically give you two guns and I feel like there are more options available for a good shotgun in the 12 gauge field.
  34. insanebikerboy

    Shotgun Advice

Get a 12 gauge and put 20 gauge inserts in. You'll find more support for a 12 gauge than 20, opens the variety of weapon choices and will give you the option of 12 gauge if you want it. Plus, you can drop 28 gauge inserts into a 12 gauge to make it really challenging and I'm not for sure if...

PCS vs Home of Record Move?

Home of record is a one time move that allows you to bring your crap from your home before OCS, whereever that may be. That way you can have all the toys and stuffed animals you had as a kid and the Navy pays to move them to you. Once you PCS to your first non-accession command, the HOR move...
