Wings & Things made our patches look good (we did the artwork), but they fvcked up the velcro and cost extra for it. We'll never use them again. They refused to either refund or fix the patches when they came to us screwed up. Bad business practice on them. We made sure to spread the word around...

Precisely... lose the generators and you have to fly on partial panel. If you had an MC1 failure on a lower lot jet it would be a problem too I believe (gotta dig in NATOPS for that one). Higher lots, MC1 and MC2 task share.

HUD is a primary flight instrument in the Rhino... and if the actual HUD fails, you can bring the HUD data up on your DDI ;) I hate partial panel in the Rhino... the standbys are in a very awkward place.

My class was 12.5 months or so. Right on timeline. Not sure about the classes behind us, but I'm sure it's pretty comparable. All the badness has been taken out of VT-7, at least when I left. VT-9 was the fvcked up one at that point... but I think they fixed themselves too.

There was a group that did a modification to Fleet Command to make it much more realistic. Sensors and weapons behaved closer to real life (i.e. no 360 degree radar on a Tomcat). I enjoyed Fleet Command and played it multi-player a few times. It was fun. I hated going against a Kirov...

Yep, turbine powered engines (turboprop, jet, etc) are much easier to operate and fly in my experience. Oh, and more reliable.

Depends on the collision modeling of the game. If the game is using a simple box model for collisions, then if you get within a certain volume area of the "aircraft", it'll just call it a collision. If the game is better programmed, then it could do a pure 3D model collision... i.e. seeing if...
