Actually, if you analyze Pearl Harbor and do your research, they really fvcked it up. Missed the carriers, missed the subpens, missed the oil fields, etc etc. Pearl Harbor was a surprised... a lot of people died... it crippled the US Navy for a short while... it didn't take us out of the war...

There aren't exactly a lot of flights where a backseat would be open, in Primary.

Friend of mine had a finger light (not for NVG) he used in the T-45. They're pretty cool, but not terribly useful if you can't take your hands off the controls for whatever reason.

Yep, good advice. When I actually made jetlogs (thank you PFPS/JMPS), I would put other info on there for my own purposes... freqs, etc. It worked for me and built up my SA. SA is good.

Brevity is always a good thing so long as you get your point across. If you write 1500 words and it's stellar, that's a good thing.

If you're planning on holding, just compute how much gas you're going to burn at that point. Since most aircraft hold at max endurance (at least in my experience), or close to it, you can use that number. They teach you a certain way to do a jet log, but everyone has their own way of doing it...

Question: Why do the Marines need an EA capability? Especially in such a joint atmosphere as today?

Coastie helos primary duty is SAR (at least how I understand it) and they do it a lot. Cobra guys actually get to shoot stuff. Nothing against Navy helo at all, I've flown a couple when I was a middie and had a blast, but if I could choose a community to be a helo guy in, it'd be CG or Marine Cobra.

In Lemoore they're entirely different squadrons, with VFA-122 being the Rhino RAG and VFA-125 being the Charlie RAG. In Oceana, they are combined into the same squadron, VFA-106.

Yeah, our Intel room is "Secure" and has SIPR access.
