204 is closed for air/law/ground for OCC. 205 is going to be extremely competitive (read: 285+ PFT and a very good package to get in, from my OSO).

The ASVAB is a seperate test all-together (enlisted aptitude test). NO calculators on the ASTB. There is a thread here for ASTB questions also...

I'll echo what the other people said. Don't do ROTC if you're not ok with not being in an Aviation MOS. There's no way for you to know what you're going to get (outside of commissioning and even that's not guaranteed). All you can do in ROTC is work hard, do your best, and hope things go your way.

I emailed the OR today. He said things are a little backed up but boards were held (take that for what it's worth). NAVYOCS.com had results for Supply boards and Intel from February so It would seem he was right.

Let's hope not...March is going to have a a lot of applicants and selections are probably not going to be anywhere near what they have been in the past.

I know exactly what you're referring to here ( I'm an EE ). They're not as hard as you want them to be. In circuits, dealing with AC sources/caps/inductors/etc..., you'll find that it's much easier to work in the imaginary plane compared to representing things with COS/SIN functions and trying...

No one else in this thread wants to say it so I will: Engineering is HARDER THAN OTHER MAJORS. The courses are designed to be a '5-year kick in the nuts' crammed into 4 years and classes require dedication and a lot of sacrifice from your social life. I had courses where we only 3 tests...

It's hard to imagine that they would even let two in-experienced pilots fly in unfamiliar airspace like that with no supervision. Pretty surprising lack of SA on that voice recording. It sounded like they had no clue where they were going.

Highlanders are pretty nice. My 4runner has been bulletproof. I got it with 65K on it and I've put another 65K on it with little more than oil changes and tire change. No problems to speak of and none in the forseeable future. You'll regularly see 4runners with 300K plus on them. Great trucks...

Pardon my ignorance if this question has already been asked, but is there something a Turboprop-Attack A/C squadron can do that an AF A-10 squadron or likewise couldn't handle? Is it simply a matter of linger/loiter time or are the Turboprops really that much better for the CAS role?

Yeah, swim qual is still part of classing up at TBS. I'm pretty sure the CWS-1,2,3 swim manual is online if you just google it. It has all the requirements and techniques and whatnot.
