Yeah...they blow. We still used them in Helo Advanced, but there were also very thorough classes that covered the material. A class with a knowledgeable instructor is priceless.

My main point was ease of use compared to paper charts. Everything is a touch away and charts dont have to be folded/unfolded. We can still bring all those paper pubs for when the Ipad shits the bed, but stick them in the back of the helo and let the crew chief toss them up when needed. Just...

Ipads are a little tougher than they look and, even with an inch of rubber around them, they'd still be smaller than 4 approach plates, 10 different charts, and god knows whatever else you're required to carry.

I think the point here is that a 'percentile score' isn't really available and anyone who gives you one is probably wrong anyways. If you want to include it on there, then just say that you scored the highest possible score (or 9/9 or something like that) in each category of the Navy's Accession...

I would say the flashlight + a Night Vision Pen would be a very useful combo. I use my red/white LED flashlight and NVP pretty regularly. Probably moreso than I even realize.
