This is something that makes the G36 unique compared to the other Glocks, it's the thinnest of all. It uses a single stack and still crams 6 rounds into a tight package.

The attrition rate in flight school is not 50%. The attrition rate is different between Primary and then whatever advanced pipeline you follow on to. Some people attrite in API.....

If this is your first gun, don't skimp on the training side of it. You should be able to find a certified NRA instructor at the local range. They'll show you what you need to know.

Maybe you failed to realize that all (well,almost) the .30 carbine for purchase is made factory new...because the round is freaking popular. There are a ton of M1 carbines out there and the owners do a lot of shooting. What are YOU gonna do when all the milsurp .30-06 dries up? Buy the gas...

Get a used Glock in 9mm. It'll be under 500 and with the right loads 9mm is a good round. For the rifle side, get a Ruger 10/22 in .22lr. Good times for all.

I think the switch from Prowler to Growler probably wont create more "slots" for pilots, not noticably anyways. Going from 4 jets to 6 over the course of how many years?? The change will probably be transparent.

I did all of the DODMERB stuff while I was in the interview process for the NROTC scholarship. I had all of the exams complete before I was offered/accepted my scholarship. I think it is just all part of the process.

I would be more concerned about this type of situation. At least I'll have orders to my fleet squadron within a month.....then who knows! If they did cut guys who have already winged, it'd be a colossal waste of cash and time, especially since we were supposed to be committed for 8...

Being a Foxtrot guy, we don't need an NFO. Sure we train for the ASW and ASuW missions, but a we are also supposed to do the SAR, CSAR, log, and NSW missions. Like Pags said, what the hell would a FO do during those missions? We do pax runs, log runs, and are the strike group's SAR asset...

Thanks for clarifying. In the other threads about selection criteria we forgot to mention the special section you check if you went to ERAU. Are you serious? Where you went to school has no bearing on selection, it's based on GPA, major, etc. All the NROTC people select from the same pool....

I've used Monarch 9mm and .40 in the past with no issues. It was brass, not steel coated, though. It was kinda dirty, but functioned OK.
