    Hampton Comes Alive!

I took my son to the show Sat. 1 1/2 hours in traffic just to get to the parking lot. Ok show, but the gaps in the flying were tedious. Once again, the Super Hornet demo was the best one of the day.

Boeing Tanker: Beans, Bullets, Oil, and politics .. and did we mention: politics ??

Somehow I think that the AF is going to be the loser in all of this. More bad press, extensive delays, and an aging platform staying around longer possibly degrading service to the "fleet". Will we ever be able to award a major contract again without 3x secondguessing?

Stupid questions about Naval Aviation (Pt 2)

Yes there are. Mode 1, 2 & 3 are all available. Mode 1: Coupled approach - George (autopilot) flies the approach to either touchdown (Mode 1) or to 1/2 mile (mode 1A) Mode 2: Carrier ACLS - Not ILS like at a shore field, but presentation to the pilot is the same. The magic 8 ball on the...

Here are a few from the GW on the trip 'round the horn! These are all from the Straits of Magellan. Cold as heck & 18' seas on exit into the Pacific. One of the most amazing trips ever. I've got some 1600 pictures from the 2 months. Gonna take a while to sort through all of them...

    Fire on the George Washington

The good news of the story is that the crew did an awesome job putting the fire out and then everyone on board pitched in to help out. The dirty shirt fed the entire ship the first day, and the airwing pilots took over cooking and cleaning for the next 3. By time I left on Tuesday, it was...

Sorry you didn't get the platform you wanted, it sounds like the needs of the Navy don't match what you want. Probably not a fight you will win. I would advise you to make the best of the situation, work hard, and excel at what the Navy assigned you. A transition later on in your career is...

The Monster COD thread (homage to the C-2A Greyhound)

Yes, they all had wings, but not an AQD for the platform. That meant that you didn't earn any "special" community specific or tactical qualification after completing the FRS. It goes back to C-1 Traders that were owned by each CV and flown by the pilots in ships company. You couldn't get...

The Monster COD thread (homage to the C-2A Greyhound)

I've got to say I have a different opinion than Bunk does. I'm not saying that he's wrong, I just have had a different experience in the community. I came to the COD Community after being a Viking pilot for almost 5 years. I'm now leaving on my 3rd COD deployment and have nearly 900 hours in...

TOP POSTER: Will Brett327 hold his title, or will A4sForever take him down?

temporary title upset only to be fought with a back & forth title exchange strangly matched to the USN deployment schedule and the transient goings on of a cranky old man. A4s in June, MB for good in late '08. COD guys have better conectivity.
