Your school should have a quarter mile track somewhere in it's possesion. Run on that and time yourself. That way when you run off the track you can approximate both by time and by feel how far you've gone. Treadmills suck...every 3 miles on there is only worth one outside.

I also heard that there is a waiver for almost anything, you just have to know how to find it. I think it's true though, because if they only wanted perfect specimens there wouldn't be very many people in flight school.

I was -4.75 pre-op and 0 refraction (20/20)post op. Had PRK in August, have to wait until November for my waiver. My OSO says that the study is still on going (as does P'cola) but can end at any time before the end of this year.

I wouldn't give up on SNA. The whole reason for doing the study is to bring it back at a later date as a regular part of the application process. The first guys in this study should be already in the fleet and from what i've been hearing it's been going quite well. You're still in college so...

I didn't think the ASTB was too bad, especially if you use the study guide on this site. It's almost identical to the actual test, all they did is change some numbers and stuff. Don't stress out about it but definately study.

As far as I was told by Pensacola, they're still giving waivers for PRK. The OSO in manhattan told me it's been over for several months, but my Buffalo OSO said it's still going on but ending soon...I'm trusting my OSO and Pensacola.....
