I doubt your DI knows the “creativeness” the AOCS DIs were allowed. The DIs used to prefer AOCS over Marine OCS because Marine OCS imposed rules on them. At AOCS the DIs had no rules.

I was there August - November 1999. 04-00 with Cagle who’s now a Sergeant Major USMC. Good on him. He was tough as nails but actually a really great guy. I actually just finished this interesting book called A Sea Story: Officer Candidate School about those days when Navy OCS was back in Pensacola. Nails the experience to a T. Weird looking back but one of the best experiences of my life. Still use all the discipline to this day. A little expensive but worth the read.

The questions were asked...

Where did you hear that? I heard it was going to be extended by 1 week and notice CANTRAC has it over 90 days in length for the next FY.

It’s been put on on public avenues OCS is expanding from 12 to 13 weeks.

Is the extra week tacked onto Candio-phase or one of the other two?

It's 7 extra days of RLP.

But not really answered.

Stage 42...it involves an extra week of 42 pushups, 42 pull-ups, 42 sit-ups, and a 4.2 mile run each day to build up. Starts the Tuesday of week Four (4.2) and lasts for 4.2 days.

This is exactly what we were told it would consist of as well when we were there.

You can make the argument that can all be wedged into one day. The OTC folks are still finalizing what the extra week will specifically entail
