So many "I was tolds" but ill go ahead and add to it anyway... one of the OR I talked to pointed out the at board list was only showing modified 6 days ago on mpte. She said the at board list is usually done right before the convene, so the board may have convened later than expected. The march board convened early so we know the dates are not concrete. I dont know if this holds any merit but its the latest info I was given.

The at board list is just a list of people NRC has compiled to send to the board members, when they actually hold the board after receiving the list is up to them based on their schedules.

I just contacted the Navy Recruiting Command via the phone number on the npc website and was told that the board JUST had concluded. The Chief I spoke to said the results should be out "within the next week or so" - so the board definitely did not convene on the scheduled date.

Hope this helps some of you who were still concerned.

Sweet. My worry is more that there will only be about two weeks in between results and the next board's deadline to submit  Fingers crossed for this board.

Two cents from my own experience: just like the meeting date is flexible so may be the submission date....my packet was “ready” by the submission date but because of a mixup about whether I’m going enlisted or Officer at my recruiting station, it didn’t actually get sent out to the board until like May 7th. My OR and his higher ups went overboard to get it done. I think if you are in good hands, you’ll be OK.

Also, based on what Rufio181 and NavyOffRec have said, our best shot is the very first board (unless we do something like improve our OAR score).

@Anthony Cardenas also if you look at the stats from last year’s August board....the selection rate was only like 27% ?

Yeah all of the recent SWO boards have had lower selection rates. Aug had 27%, October 35%, March 29%, and who knows for this board. The last board to have a selection rate higher than 50% was last May with 58% and last March with 61%. I really don't know why it's gotten so low but obviously it looks like they have less of a need for SWOs at the moment.

Anthony, I went through with my CCC and got the exact numbers. We have duty again tomorrow, but I think you might be confused. Here are the exact numbers from the reports. I believe posting numbers is still within the guidelines here. Any moderators, please remove this if this breaks any of the board's rules.

I read in other threads that this was due to two reasons: 1) In the past, applicants would list SWO as their second or third choice and recently the SWO board stopped picking candidates up unless it was their first choice. 2) SWO is the designator that NROTC/USNA cadets with lower GPAs and non-stem majors are most likely to end up being assigned (my understanding is that they don’t get to pick the designator unlike OCS applicants). So that would make it less need of SWOs going through OCS.

Please correct me if I’m wrong. I’m only repeating what I’ve read here and on reddit. ?

I don't mean to encroach here, I have been lurking to see @Anthony Cardenas results because he was so happy for me and I want to be happy for him, but can you do this for the IWC boards, Vincent? I am so curious.

If I’m correct, those statistics would imply that there was a dramatic shift

Thanks a lot for all the info today @Vincent . If I’m correct this data would imply a dramatic drop in selection needs between FY17 and FY18.

Wow, that's an incredibly sharp drop in acceptance rates. I'm rooting for all the SWO hopefuls to make it through. Your backs are up against the wall due to the overwhelming majority of accessions being slotted in as SWOs from NROTC, USNA, STA-21, and washouts from other programs as well as the currently high supply of SWOs, but there's some seriously impressive and motivated people on this forum board and people I know IRL. Wishing you guys all the best.

And while the Navy and Navy Reserve have hyper-competitive selection, the Army is having trouble filling its ranks. But I personally can't blame folks. San Diego beats Kentucky or Qatar by any measure.
