FY17 Supply DCO

Thar, last year it took about 2-2.5 weeks for some to hear back. Last year the board met July 20th and folks were sharing their results the first week of August.

I threw my hat in the ring.

I was a deck Seaman who went to Operations Specialist 'A' graduated with "Honors" did 4 years on 2 destroyers.
- Plank Owner
- 2 Navy Achievement Medals
- Battle "E"
- Good Conduct
- BA in History minor in Communications
- Currently pursuing a Masters in Public and Corporate Communications GPA. 3.875
- Worked as a Computer Science Academic Coordinator / Advisor
- Currently work in Contracting as a Configuration Management Analyst working with Integrated Logistics
- Database Administrator (DBA)
- Supply Chain Certified
- Substitute Teacher
- Working on a Life-Cycle Logistics (DAWIA) certification
- Reference letters from my prior O-6 Captain (currently active duty), Retired O-5, Chair of the department of Computer Science, an additional reference
- Three interviews (O-4 / O-4 / O-5) all went really well
- Excellent Enlisted Evals (MP / EP /EP)
- Honorable Discharge
- Strong Motivational Statement

Last year I believe it was between 180-200 packages submitted with an acceptance rate of 10% or less.
 
I heard from my OR, said results should be available the first week of August. Another week of waiting...

I went back and looked at last years post and everyone was reporting first week of Aug so that is what I have been expecting. I am anxious to see how it turned out. I am hopeful for the best but setting things in motion to better my package just in case.

Looking at your background, you don't have enough experience. Any reason why you're not considering active duty supply? Start ups are almost becoming a dime a dozen and the boards want to see true leadership experience with supply chain, finance, and logistics with major companies. Having some certs will help as well.

Thank you Rufio181, The main reason is that I will be 29 before my commissionable date wit AC. I am finishing up my Six sigma black belt cert (exam passed waiting on conferral) as well as starting my PMP Cert. I am looking to expand my leadership position within my current company as well as develop my start up before my next packet submission. If you have any advice or suggestions please let me know as well.

Sorry to hear that. If it's something you really want, stay the course. Make improvements where you can and listen to the advice given by the folks on this board especially the Officer Recruiters! 8.6% acceptance rate, wow.
