July 2013 and/or Rolling Board

Has SWO always been this much more competitive than SNA? I always thought more would go for SNA... Or is that just totally ignorant and presumptuous of me?

Think of it this way, yes more people would like to go SNA, but often things prevent a person from going SNA, so they put in for SWO, or age is an issue so they go for SWO, so consequently you get more that put in for SWO, the overall number of spots of SNA and SWO is about the same.

Did anyone hear what the percentage was for the last supply board? My OR seemed to think they were pretty liberal with selections...

Oh okay, that makes sense.

If they were that would be a first, Supply is generally low, however with the age change for AD moving down it may reduce the applicants.

Talking to my OR earlier and was non-select for SWO. I didn't mind though since I was already Pro-Y for SNA/NFO.

This lead me to thinking; how many of those non-selects were already Pro-Y for another designator? I would be interested to see what the selection rate was for people who put SWO as their #1 choice.
Or am I completely wrong in thinking how the board works and the SNA/NFO selects didn't even go to the SWO board?

My understanding is that if you put SNA/NFO/SWO you will go to all of the boards, and that the board cannot see your selection status. However I also raised the point that few if any people, at least on AW, that were selected for SNA were selected for SWO. In fact, it may be a coincidence, but how many people got selected for more than one designator other than SNA/NFO? It seems like an odd correlation.

So possibly even more competitive than normal? I was just wondering because I have yet to find anyone on here that was selected for Supply other than myself....if your out there say hello....Lol

I was also selected for Supply from the June board. Found out on the 26th of June and went through MEPS on the 28th of June. Had my security clearance interview a week and a half ago. Last week my OR called and confirmed that all of my paperwork was complete and I am simply waiting for my Final Select letter. Eagerly awaiting to know my OCS date, and also wondering if anybody from the June board had their FS letter yet? My wife and I moved out of our apartment last weekend and into my mother's house because our lease was up, and we are hoping that I leave for OCS within the next couple months.

That was my understanding as well, just wanted to make sure I wasn't in the wrong. I must have skipped over your post earlier.

You never know with Supply, I would say 20% is high for instance, but remember their overall numbers are lower, sometimes they only bring in 50 or 60 each year.

Just coincidence, I would frequently have people put in for and be selected for all 3, or a random combination of them.

What did the age drop to? And what was it for active duty. I applied for the board and my package was pro-boarded as per the fleet processor, but I I was 29 when I submitted the package and I just turned 30 a few weeks ago.. Is Supply ruled out for me? What's the age for NFO?
