So now that the March board results are out who is going to take the honor of creating an "Applying to the July 2013 Board" thread or this not necessary since the rumor is that they are going to a rolling board?

Folks are finding out about there FS letters on a Sunday? Mine should be coming soon considering I am PQed already have a secret security clearance and my conditional release is complete just waiting to swear in and obtain a OCS date which from what I am seeing could be March 31st.

Finding out I was selected has not really hit me yet I cannot believe it. I wouldn't give this slot up for a million dollars seriously. I am happy to fly whatever the Navy puts me in and I be damned if I ever complain. Just like I told my unit Saturday I will not forget I was enlisted first. Thanks to the admin of this site and all the veteran aviators before me I am thankful you take the time out your day to help folks like me.

Im in the same boat as you bro! I gave my notice of return to active duty today at work......I am really reserving my party dance for the FS and class date. Let me know if you get your FS letter. I havent seen anyhting on bupers yet for me, but I don't know if they post it for reservists.

I talked with my recruiter I should be expecting my FS letter this week hopefully. I was also told most of the pilots that were selected this board will attend April 21st.

are you in the reserves? if so, is your selection on bupers?

my recruiter said the same thing, expect the FS this week and be ready for March but expect April.

NOR,
Do you have any knowledge on why there seems to be a shortage of pilots/NFOs, especially when looking at the recent board results? Thanks for all your help.

yes, one issue is blueprinting, it is what the OR is supposed to do upon meeting the applicant, it identifies any issues (legal/physical) and hopefully clears them up prior to submitting, and then there is getting guys that are motivated to submit, they have had large numbers of people becoming not physically qualified or just deciding they don't want this, for instance at one NRD I know of close to 75% of those selected are not able or wanting to go.

Any news from the Supply Board? Sorry to change the subject, it is my first time applying and I've been anxious about the whole thing.

I applied to this march supply board, as well. From what I know the board is still set to convene next tuesday, the 19th. I've been told results should be sent out within 1-2 weeks. In one of the forums, I remember reading that around 30-40 of the 200 submitted for the january board were picked up. Take this all with a grain of salt though. From the looks of the board held on the 4th, results were released day-of and there was a high selection rate. No point stressing in the mean time - sit back and enjoy the wait. Best of luck man.

Thanks a lot NOR. That's crazy that some people simply turn down an aviation selection after all that application work. I wonder how many people will stick from this recent March go around.

Yeah, I never understand why someone would turn it down after going through all of that. But I guess it's better that those who don't have their heart in it not go.

Because everyone should have the same aspirations you or I have.

I bet there are probably more people looking to the military as a 2nd option than those who are really committed to it. Perchance during the application process they got a job offer/some other offer that they ended up taking over the military.
