What's your favorite micro brew

Ugh - I do like a good coffee Porter though.

I highly recommend the Jefferson Stout from the Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company from Kiln, MS. Meal in itself but one of my favorites.

They recently (last month) changed our archaic alcohol laws here in MS to where we should be able see some of these fine craft brews down here now.

"And there was much rejoicing..."

Just a heads up, if any of you are stationed within a reasonable distance of Portland, be sure to drive up the last 4 day (July26-29) weekend of July for the Oregon Brew Fest. There are dozens upon dozens of breweries bringing countless kegs of beer out to the Portland waterfront. Many of my fellow marines and sailors will be showing up for the debauchery. It's quite the experience and the sheer number of microbrews is overwhelming.

That is one of the most beautiful sights I have ever laid my eyes upon.

Isn't it? I love how they've broken it up into north and south. This is the heaven that awaits me upon retirement. :)

I've heard Portland called a lot of things but never 'heaven'.

Just wait 'till you move and then you won't take the PacNW for granted.

I'll be sure to take pictures and make beer recommendations if I am still cognitively capable.

This picture shows maybe 1/3 of the tents , people, and beer

There are 81 breweries represented at this 25th anniversary of Oregon Brew Fest. Each brewery must choose only one of their brews to represent at the brew fest.

For the other side of the country, Southern Tier Brewery from NY has been doing good things lately. Tried two of their Imperial Stouts last week in Pensacola - the Creme Brulee and the Jahva, both very nice.

The creme brulee stout is ridiculously sweet, truly an alcoholic dessert.

That's because you've been in Seattle too long and have succumbed to the brainwashing campaign. ;)

Everything that is good about Seattle, Portland does a little better, a little quirkier, a little more interestingly, and with a little more character, IMO. Not to hate on the Emerald City at all, because its also awesome. Just prefer the Oregonian vibe.

A coworker was in the ready room this afternoon, enjoying a Ruination. He offered me one.

I still have to fly tonight. I had to refuse.

That, gentlemen, is the definition of "discipline."
