So the NYUSN blog posted a little spreadsheet with FY11 numbers on it. Essentially it says that a bunch of designators are closed for FY11. Does a board this far out from FY12 still pick applicants for FY12? I don't graduate until May 2011, and so I'm pretty sure there's only one OCS class date that'd put me in FY11 anyways.

I'm not especially worried about it because there's nothing I can do about what is available, but if there's 0% chance of me getting NFO it'd be nice to know.

I would still apply. I was picked up for NFO in last month's boards and it appears as though it was almost closed if not actually closed. The other reason I say this is because you can become an alternate. I don't know if the Navy does this but it would seem to me like it is possible based on the 10th column. Basically if someone doesn't make it through some aspect of the training or not enough people have made it through the training they give you a call. They may also just give you a FY12 spot if eligible.

Maybe it is different for NFO/SNA because there are so many more slots, but I know that recent Intel selects are going in July of 2011/august 2011 putting them in the FY12, so I would think that that would def. be a possibility.

On a side note- Day 2 of P90x done! Woo!

My recruiter indicated to me that they were still selecting people for the designators that are nearly closed for FY 11, but that (as Lucy said) we would most likely not class up until July or later if selected so that we commission in FY 12.

Have fun with P90x Lucy! I just started as well after seeing it mentioned here and in a few other places. Day 6 today for me and I'm loving it so far!

Although I probably should follow it I'm just planning to watch what I eat and try to make healthier choices, but not strictly follow the provided meal plan.

Also, I just realized I don't think I ever posted my stats over here so I guess I'll add them in as well since I am in these boards.

Cheers to coming to that realization; I did the same thing with Mechanical Engineering :D.

Also, it seems like a lot of ppl are trying p90x; let me know how you like it after the first month or so. I've had a few friends try it, but they quit because, in their words, "The guy leading you is a douche. He became so annoying that I hated doing them." Has anyone looked at the Insanity program as well and thoughts on that?? Right now I jog and go to the gym 4-6 days a week, but am thinking of trying out something like one of these programs.

The hardest thing about P90x is staying motivated. It does get repetitive, so I stopped at month 2 (after losing 12 pounds). Then just decided to hit the weighs and go from there. Freeweights, resistant bands, bars, jumps... Just keep changing it up!

Yay Lucy! Keep it up, the results really start to show by the end of month one... Keep track of progress and have fun with it because it is a long journey :p
