What High School Electives/USNA?

I am wanting to know what type of classes I should choose to help me get into the USNA. ROTC is an elective and I have already chose that. What other classes should I try? Should they be math oriented? Or more Science Oriented. I am not the best at math but I am in AP science and english. Should I try AP math? Engineering is also a class, should I go into it? I know it is alot, but I would apprieciate the help. Thank you, and God Bless.

1) Find out what the requirements are for USNA, but as a general rule, the higher level the class, the better. If you have "extra" slots to fill (after planning for the requirements) you're probably better off taking technical courses. But don't take such a tough load that your grades suffer.
2) Look at the statistics for the past several classes, and see what is common about those who got appointments. That will give you some ideas about extracurricular activities.
3) Anything that shows leadership is good (JROTC leadership positions, team captain for sports, club presidents, church youth group leadership positions, Eagle Scout, Venture Scouts).

Dan's a USNA Mid, so he's the guy to listen to. Whatever you do, make sure you do it well. If you take all the hardest classes available and end up with a 3.0 GPA, you're pretty much not going to get in.

When I applied there, the key was to prove to the board that you could handle the very rigorous academic load at USNA. Do whatever you have to do to prove that to them (i.e. take the hardest classes that you can do well in).

Yeah this is key. Also, make sure if you are taking the hardest classes, have your counselor note that they are the most difficult (i.e.: Honors or AP English over regular English) available at your school.

Navy SEALs vs USMC

Would you rather be a Marine or a Navy SEAL? And why. I would like to be a Navy SEAL personally, but that's just me. I just think it would be pretty cool. When I get into the Navy I am going to try to be an aviator, but of those two, I would rather be a SEAL. What about you? God Bless

I have to disagree. I like apples. I like them both actually. Well, I probably wouldn't by either and go with the good ole watermelon. It's delicious. And it is bigger than an apple and an orange.

Not positive, but I think m0tbaillie was pointing out the flaw in your logic. To make a comparison between Marines and SEALS, you would need to compare a component of the Marines, such as Recon or Force Recon. They are a PART of the Marines, just as the SEALs are a PART of the Navy. Both are elite forces. Do you prefer California or Florida oranges?

Oranges are too messy. Apples are better for being on the go. But then you ave to deal with the core. Clementines are a nice balance between the two but they're a bit more rare. Can we add clementines to the discussion? Thoughts?
