FY09 STA-21 Soup to selection and beyond MEGA thread

Really quick question. Everyone with previous college credits...(Central Texas)...is applying to colleges as transfer students right?

I applied as a transfer because my school's policy was anybody with 24 or more credit hours is considered a transfer. Under 24, then apply as a Freshmen. As a Freshmen they might require your high school transcript, ACT/SAT scores, etc.. Might want to ask your schools admissions department and check to avoid any possible problems that could delay your acceptance letter.

Like thethread says.. Congrats to all FY09 OC's, that's awesome. Enjoy it.. I have been in the program for 3 years and commissioning in December. Can't wait. Any questions hit me up. If anyone can't find a school that they like, let me throw out a suggestion. Ole Miss, or the University of Mississippi as outsiders call it. Good program, chill staff and pretty easy school.

has anyones physical been approved by BUMED yet and how long did it take??

My physical was submited to BUMED on the 22nd and as far as I know it hasn't been approved yet. Plan on checking in on the 3rd. I am a CORE select and have no physical issues so I think its just a paperwork drill.

Hmmm...well that sucks...I turned mine in on the 27th and havent heard anything yet. No physical problems so I just wish it would just say cleared so I can quit worrying about it. You never know what the Navy is going to come up with. They forgot to give me a chest xray after I drove 10 hours one way....so needless to say I was not happy to have to get it done and send it to Mississippi afterwards...get it all printed up....they said I was black when I am white...so they had to re-type it...dang its like how hard is this form to fill out. So its been a long road...just want it to clear

I was admitted to SDSU as a transfer student just based on the smart transcript, they did not accept any of those credits, but they let me in as a transfer. So it might be easier to get into schools as a transfer, so it would be worth a call to the admissions office.

I spoke with Frank Roberts a couple days ago. SDSU is not accepting lower division transfers for Fall 09 but he is trying to gain acceptance for STA/ECP students. All of my transcripts are at SDSU and Roberts told me to expect results for admissions by/around 16DEC. (22Dec is the cut off)

I have already received acceptance from a couple schools but SDSU is my first choice so I want to hold out...

Has anyone at SDSU had any of their SMART credits transfer in. A friend who was a IS2, was able to transfer 30 credits from her SMART to CSU Sacramento towards BSBA

SDSU did not accept anything off of my smart transcript. I was a nuke, so there were plenty to pick from, nothing accredited though. I am pretty sure they need an official degree plan and acceptance letter by 22DEC

Separation Pay while at NSI?

If you are not attending BOOST, is there family separation pay for the 8 weeks while there?

Lose all special pay (for us SUB PAY), and lose BAS, right? So, keep Base Pay and BAH?

Yes you get family sep pay while at NSI (because you are TAD and can not take your family). You do not get BAS, and you do get to keep base pay and BAH.

Just for some clarification, if we bring our family to BOOST on PCS orders we will receive a second set of PCS orders when we leave NSI to our units correct?
