I think liver survival and bouncer evasion in Key West would be much more appropriate and applicable. How many times has someone here been tracked and captured by the enemy? Okay, hands down. Now.... How many here have been tracked and captured by a hangover and a regrettable hook up?

I think we have a winner!!!

Looking for a NAM and the hatred of JOPA huh?! "Hey guys, I just got us a couple billets for follow on SERE! Congratulations! Smith, Jones, Sampson, you report Monday!"

Ha, not quite. I had a few moto AW's ask me about it the other day and no one around the squadron really knew much. Hell, after reading more about it on here and other places, it sounds interesting.

The absolute best SERE training....Threat Counter Tactics. Study those threats...and know how to beat them. Then you won't need to endure the alternatives on the ground.

SERE East Question

As far as the training taking place up in Brunswick, I know the first part is the classroom work followed by the practical part the second week. My question is does the training carry on 7 days a week or is the weekend in the middle free? I grew up in the area and would like to know if I'll have the chance to rent a car and drive home to see my mom.

If the answer needs to come offline, just PM me. And if its part of the classified information just lock this thing up or erase it. Thanks.

(Mods, might I get a set of those wings please? One anchor.)

The weekend was free when I went through (summer '02). YMMV, check current policy with Brunswick SERE before making any reservations.

The weekend is not free. You hit the mountain that friday evening/night. 'nuff said.

Edit: If this is IRT reservations, just call the Q. They know exactly what to do with SERE studs, and have it down to a science. They'll get you set up with a room when you're in the classroom, and have one waiting for you when you get back off the hill.

If you fly in early you can spend that weekend enjoying the area before you check in. You can also fly out late and spend a few days on the back end. The weekend in between will be spent elsewhere.

Bubba: The Q wasn't my concern. I'm trying to let some folks know if/when I might make a brief apperance back home to see the family/aquire some items I had to leave behind when I moved out.

Abra: Yeah sadly I've gota do it on front end. My FRS start date is already set as the Monday after I'm supposed to finish SERE. I'm going to give SATO a call tommorow, see if I can weasle myself an early flight and take that weekend before it starts. I'd love to be able to hang around the weekend after as the HS football season will just be starting.

You need to bump up your request to the Admin level/Webmaster as mods can't do anything about bestowal of wings on your profile. Congrats, BTW.

If that's the case, your gut instinct is your best bet. I hung around before with a buddy who's got family in the area and enjoyed some good food, and then stuck around on the backside and went skiing.

Yes, I did go skiing after SERE. No, I'm not retarded.

They used to deliver fresh lobsters all packaged to fly right to base ops. You call the distributor and he brings it to you right before you flight.
That way when you get home you can steam up a few lobsters and relive the expirience that is SERE school!

SERE west is probably the same timeline as SERE East and we were on a bus to the mountain friday afternoon in our sweet cammies.
