Fail anyone one event in the PRT and you fail.

For SNA and SNFO API is in Pensacola.
For SNA Primary is in Whiting, Corpus Christi or Vance.

Ok, I'm reviewing the list of things to bring to OCS and have a question about running shoes. The OCS website says that everyone will be fitted for and receive running shoes at OCS, but should bring running shoes for the first few days. Do these running shoes need to be plain-white? I've got a pair of black running shoes that are nicely broken in, so I want to buy new shoes early enough to break them in a bit if I need to buy white ones instead. Thanks guys

Just talked to a friend that graduated from OCS a few weeks ago. He said color of shoes doesn't matter at all (verified by my recruiter). I'm getting new ones to break in a coupla weeks before I ship so they will last all through OCS so I can keep my fitted ones from the NEX shiny and new for inspections :)

I just got a new pair of running shoes so they will be good for the fun of OCS.

So who wants to get wasted the night before check in? :)

I'm right behind you...I'm sure showing up to checkin with a hangover is an awesome way to start OCS. Hell, lets go for the bloody marys and mimosas that morning to take the edge off :)

Hold back your tears, guys and gals

I was originally in the June 30th OCS class, but I just received word that because of my wrist I will be bumped back to August.

I know this is heartbreaking news for all of you that we will not be in OCS together. I am sincerely sorry.:D

On a more serious note, the delay is not free. I had hoped the Navy would have me sit around in July still collecting my BDCP cash as my wrist healed, but they notified me that I will be an employee of NRD New England throughout July to earn my cash. My days of free Uncle Sam money are coming to an end.

See you in a few months when you can boss me around as Candi-Os. Good luck and enjoy that Florida heat!

Edit: actually, scratch that. That whole geographic separation would prevent that.

An enlistment contract can do that...

Good luck on the healing process. Hopefully your case of limp-wristitis is not too serious.

So what are you going to be doing for the NRD? Not meeting potential recruits, I wouldn't think. You don't have any uniforms or anything...maybe you'll be pushing papers? Well, just think, you didn't have anything else to do right? :)

Well Richard, I asked them if they'd be having me scrubbing the toilets and they said no. It sounds like I'll be doing simple tasks such as licking envelopes. I'm qualified for nothing at this point, so they also told me my contact with potential recruits will be minimal.

By the way, I'll be curious to see what happens with you guys as far as being Candi-Os. With no classes behind you, you might miss that altogether, eh?

And thankyou, Tom. The doc says the wrist should make a full recovery. Bone spurs just take forever to heal.

I'm sure you'd rather be at OCS than licking envelopes...oh well, soon enough.

I'm not sure what they're going to do with us as candi-o's, but apparently the rumor that we might finish early has been squashed. Wouldn't want to miss out on quality time with the instructors, I suppose.

Anyway, sorry you won't be joining us in Pensacola, but I'm sure RI is nice in August.

Thanks man. You're right--I would rather get OCS out of the way. I guess the only advantage to RI is that it won't be as hot as Florida. Because of this, however, I am guessing that the DIs will probably make workouts harder. Is there any truth to this? Anybody know?

How the hell would anybody know if the move hasn't even been made yet?
