I’d add that our gov wasn’t that concerned about collateral people/property damage in the vast swath of unpopulated area from Alaska through Canada and Montana to St. Louis. We blow lots of stuff up in/over more populated areas and only make reasonable efforts to keep bombs and missiles on our sides of hwy 50 and 95.
You might think that... you should see what goes into clearing a sea range when we're blowing things up in the air. The standard for falling debris weighing just 1 gram, striking a human or structure, is 1 in 1 million. Super-computers are involved... I'm not kidding.

Air Warriors can do better….

There are things in this life
that I’ll never do.
Like see a Galarkapus,
a Hippopotmbird,
or an F-22.

These are things
that are quite rare.
And it is hard to accept
that a Gogolop
or Raptor can be adept
at unusual jobs.
Like busting a balloon,
or eating kabobs.

I like Chinese food
in the Year of the Bunny,
and party balloons,
I find awfully funny.
But I’m not to sure about
the sensors of spies,
especially when they are
up in the skies!

So shoot it down,
Shoot it down!
I say.
But the Chubby Milleywillie
says, “Not today!”

Shoot it down!
Shoot it down!
I shout
But the Oily-Haired Blinken
says, “I have a doubt.”

Now it has traveled
so very far.
From state to distant state
about as fast as a car.
And the rare Raptor driver
has had time to simulate.
Exactly what he will do
when he meets his fate.
Will he shout, “Fox 1!”
Or, “In your face!”
Or will he just let
the ballon deflate?

No comments or analysis about the array hanging underneath the balloon. Anything folks can share in this forum?

Without being a smart ass, it was some antennas and arrays. Anything more than that might be beyond the scope of this board?

Speaking from a position of profound ignorance, I'm thinking the flat plates are solar arrays. Making the balloon white helps with insolation. I assume antenna arrays are on the flip side. Would have a huge aperture for a steerable array. Somehow it points itself and propels too. The things on the end?

Counter-weapon in development...(we have one in our lab)
