The following occurred about 30min before takeoff; Someone made an oops and neglected to give this coach driver proper directions (or an escort) and it must have been the first time he delivered people here.

Yes Matilda ........... he almost made it to the threshold of Runway 25L (the far white pickup went out to get him). The near white pickup is in the tow lane and several coaches, and a trolley, came down this lane to deliver people (2nd photo, w the Tlynx finally in the right place lol)

He's just standing on the ramp; he's not performing the "Superman".

I'll have to look for it but a buddy of mine who was with me at the show snapped a pic during the next pass where the crew chief held the colors, that was pretty sweet too. I hope I'm not getting anyone in trouble posting this...

Hence the two down planes comment earlier. 7's are their spare birds; they're the two seaters used for incentive/PR rides.

yep, two 7s at that midweek practice

p177253708.jpg

in this large version CLICK you can see a backseater in each 7.

I found this on the Blue Angels wiki:

The show's narrator flies Blue Angel 7, a two-seat F/A-18B Hornet, to show sites. The Blues use this jet for backup, and to give demonstration rides to VIP civilians. Three backseats each show are available, one of them goes to members of the press, the other two to Key Influencers.[8] The No.4 slot pilot often flies the No. 7 aircraft in Friday's "practice" shows.

some random shots from the Museum of Naval Aviation

Not sure if it's because they used actual equipment and components from old carriers or what but when you walk through this area, it actually smells like being on the ship. Brought back a lot of good memories.

IMHO, best museum every.
