Running Shoes

You got a problem with me?
Well i'm about to start running every day and just get back into running. I haven't been running for about 4 months and I think its time. Now my old running shoes are on its last leg and their pretty tight on my feet so i'm going to buy some new ones. I found some cheap shoes on finishline's website that look like a pretty good training shoe and their called cross training. I've seen these ( not the exact ones but like it ) on people in the military that are just running for their own health so I thought they might be pretty good. What do you guys think about them for just running around the neighborhood? Link below....

Get shoes that feel great no matter the cost. Trust me, bad shoes can make your training much harder. Don't go too expensive but find something that works great rather than saving 60 bucks. Make sure you try some different brands on to find the best fit.

I prefer Asics also, but I try my shoes on at the store and then find them for the best deal online. NB is definitely a good shoe, but not for everyone. Go to a running store and have them fit you for your running style...that's your best bet.

Buying off of a website saves you (a little) money, but if you can spare the time and a few extra dollars, it is highly beneficial to have your feet measured by a specialist at a running shop. I ran competitively in HS and my brother now runs at the collegiate level; we both have our feet measured. The guy in the shop will do it for free, though he'll expect you to buy from him as well; it's not really cool to just take the freebie fitting. However, starting a good relationship with a reputable shop has plenty of benefits...long-time and high-mileage runners congregate there and most shops have clubs (for free) which offer group runs at all times during the week. It's always nice to have a running mate or two and the wisdom of the ages at your disposal. Let me know what you find out.

Echoing the sentiments of everyone else, don't skimp on running shoes. Asics and Brooks are by far the best out there and will make a considerable difference in performance and more importantly, injury prevention.

If you don't want to go to a specialty running shop, which I suggest, then at the very least head to Runner's World's Foot Diagnostic and analyze your foot to see what specific type of shoe you need.

Go to a dedicated running store if you can and have someone find a shoe that will best fit your feet. It's worth it to go out of your way to avoid injury.

There isn't no running store around it besides Finish Line or Foot Locker and I need a motion control shoe since i'm flat footed.

You're in luck then! Make sure you go to those running stores.:)

Yeah, its late here and i've been up since 7:30am this morning so my grammar isn't going to be great, sorry for that.

I meant to say that there isn't any special running store around here. We have Finish Line, Foot Locker, Champs, Dicks Sporting Goods and stores like that.

I got a pair of Asics at Champs 2 weeks ago for about $90. I went around to visit 5 different shoe stores in the mall to get the opinions of the people who worked there. 4 out of the 5 recommended Asics for running (the guy who recommended Nikes wasn't a runner).

I had shin splints about 2 months ago and these things, combined with a pair of $20 running insoles, feel great - definitely go for quality in your shoes. Try on different brands and see which one feels most comfortable to you.

I actually did a few laps around the inside of the store to try them out. It got a few strange looks from people but whatever gets the job done.

Get Asics

Asics wont let you down. I prefer Gel Kayano, they are about 100 bucks at the NEX. You dont even have to break them in.
