AMDO BOARD FEB 15

New PA? I noticed it was stated on the schedule linked on NPC but not the one on CNRC.

They don't need to write a new PA to take only AD, it is the communities and NRC's call as to what they need, they did the same thing with PAO, EOD, and last December? they only reviewed IW applications that were from AD.

on another note I didn't know that NPC had the OCS board schedule linked.

I wrote the community manager a few weeks ago and he informed me that they are trying to have a 50/50 split between prior service and civilians due to prior service guys and gals retiring at the 20 year mark without devoting 20 years of commissioned service. So this is great news for civilians.

I myself am active duty. I have 9 years in currently. My stats are as follows:

Active duty 9 years. I have served in both an F/A-18E squadron and at a FRC. I am currently and instructor. So I definitely have diversity. My commands were:

VFA-105 - 2006 - 2009
FRCMA Site Norfolk - 2010 - 2014
CNATTU Lemoore - 2014 - Present

MA Degree in Management in work. I have currently completed 3 courses out of 12 maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
BS degree in Electronics Engineering Technology - 3.88 GPA.

Last three evaluations: MP 2014, EP 2013, EP 2012.
Sea Senior Sailor of the Year for Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic 2013

PFAs: Excellent 14-2, Excellent 14-1, Outstanding 13-2.

Collaterals: Assistant Security Manager, Divisional Career Counselor, Assistant Command Fitness Leader, ADAMS/AWARE Facilitator

Master Training Specialist (MTS) qualified in 6 months.

(3) appraisals all from O-5's, all 10's with solid write-ups. (2) were from AMDO's, one from CO of an F/A-18E squadron.

OAR 46, AQR 4.

I'm currently not one of those 70 applicants that have submitted. I plan on submitting my package in early December.

Best of luck to all!

Nice stats!! I did some time in Lemoore. I liked the small community vibe it had.

Making Recruiting Great Again
UPDATE: AMDO is back open for NRD applicants, however both the recruiter and applicant should be aware that most selections have come from the Fleet.

IMPORTANT: Just found out today that there is a new tattoo screening form that is later than the one posted on the NPC website. The latest revision is (09-2014). If you cannot find it let me know and I will send it to you.

Question for you AD members that have previously applied for OCS. When you submit your OCS package do you receive an update in BOL showing that the board has received your package? I submitted my package on December 17 and received confirmation from Rachel Fenton that my package was received and forwarded to the appropriate program manager. As of today, the only information that shows up in my advancement/selection board tab is my non-selection for Chief last year and my approved FY-16 LDO application. Thanks in advance for your help!

No you will not receive an update. You have to forward any questions regarding your OCS packet to ocsquestions@navy.mil. The only update you will receive on bupers is the selection board after the board is completed. If they received your packet as they told you then yours is at the board.

You're approved LDO? Congratulations.

On the communications or lack there of from CNRC to fleet applicants. I had huge gripes about the process. We work these packages for the better part of a year, send them off to CNRC and hear nothing until some random day after the board (for IDC this was almost seven weeks). The best part is that no one has answers! Especially when you call outside of basic administration type questions. AMDO has had a quick turnaround in the past. They know what they are looking for and don't waste anytime getting results out the door.

If you received confirmation from Rachel (she is a great resource by the way), your package is queued up and ready for review. Kick back, relax, and press F5 until your fingers bleed.

So... To be a competitive AMDO applicant. (Taken from LDO primary discrete requirements.) It's relevant because past selects had most of a - i checked off.

Performing in positions of increased leadership
and responsibility than that of their peers.
Applicants will have demonstrated strong
adaptability and a level of experience and
maturity that indicates a positive potential of
success as an officer. The applicant will have
demonstrated a thorough working knowledge and
comprehension of aviation maintenance processes,
practices and procedures. If serving an
assignment that affords the opportunity, a wellqualified
applicant will have demonstrated
exceptional performance while holding positions
and/or certifications in the following:

a. Collateral Duty Inspector
b. Quality Assurance Representative
c. Work Center Supervisor
d. Line Division LPO/LCPO
e. Flight Deck Coordinator
f. Master Training Specialist
g. Authorized by a commanding officer to
release aircraft Safe for Flight
h. Maintenance/Production Control Supervisor
i. Warfare Qualification(s)

and is the reason most selections come from the fleet. The eight week NAMP school in Pensacola holds nothing to real "on demand" experience / decision making that years of experience can offer.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, as awesome as it would be to say that my package was approved for LDO it has not been. I have applied for the FY-16 LDO board, which I still believe is in session. I chose a bad choice of words I guess. My package was screened and ACCEPTED to be reviewed for this years LDO board. BOL provides an update of your LDO package prior to the board convening to let you know whether or not the package was screened and accepted or not. I apologize for the confusion there.

Thank you for your feedback!
