If you dont score high enough on the SAT and want to take the ACT a couple months later do you have to pay? The college office told me Id have to pay but at my last college office they said you could take it again for free if you didnt score high enough for STA-21. This is the 3rd time Ive taken the ACT grrr. The second time I cut a 20 on math and needed a 21.

Meh, I think we should spend more time worrying about how OUR own packages and scores are looking and less on what OTHERS are doing. Let our hard work speak for itself and let the board worry about comparing scores right? Just a suggestion to alleviate unnecessary stress of comparison between each other.

But that's just me, some people thrive off of knowing what others are doing so to each his own I guess.

Hmm. Well

I haven't taken the ASTB yet. I have been studying so I am hopeful. I will post soon as possible. Sorry if I stress you. But I will tell if I make it or not, you guys desire to know how it is done or what it takes now adays. For instance, the same people applying for pilot are probably applying for CWO flying too. So the competition is probably fierce. Yes, I have to fight hard for the degree. But luckly all my credits transfer due to the Maryland systems. I will throw a degree plan in there for good measure. This may kill my package. Good luck to you all.

I'm just curious, that's all. I know my scores are decent, so I'm not really worried. Just interesting to see how others are doing. Here are my scores:

SAT
680 Reading 660 Math

ASTB
Academic Qualification Rating (AQR): 7
Pilot Flight Aptitude Rating (PFAR): 7
Flight Officer Flight Aptitude Rating (FOFAR): 6
Officer Aptitude Rating (OAR): 58

I think adding a degree plan to the package is a good idea and I plan on doing that as well.

what option are you applying for?

SWO/ED

I'm a Navy Diver with 5 years in already. We don't have "Diving Officers" anymore and this would be my best chance to return to the Dive Community as an officer without going Warrant.

I've got a couple of Admirals (who know me very well) who've already written me letters as well as my old Master Chief Master Diver. Took the SATs (690/640) and have plenty of prior college as well.

Also I know the officer community pretty well seeing as both admirals (and my father before me) were SWO/ Engineering Duty Officers as well.

Actually doing my command board tomorrow (today for those not in Hawaii) and my outside board on Monday. Almost done... not looking forward to the long wait though.

Well, I'm now finished with my boards and besides a few little tweaks to my Personal Statement I may send in before it gets mailed I'd say I'm done. Hope everyone else is doing well with theirs (besides you other SWO/ED guys... nothing personal).

Anyway, I'd be glad to help anyone who has questions. And even though I decided against picking the EOD option I can help anyone looking at those types of programs if you have any questions.

Congrats dude, your well ahead of schedule.

Still gotta take my ASTB (which happens next week), my boards, waiting on my transcripts to come back in the mail, tweaking and re-writing my personal statement for a THIRD time AND trying to get my warfare pin before my package is sent. All of this while my command climate becomes busier and more involved than ever before. Quite a bit to squeeze in the next few few months.

Primary Complete
SAT vs. ACT Scores

I have taken the SAT's twice. Each time I scored the same exact scores: 540 Reading, 560 Math.

I just took the ACT's this month and scored 24 on the English, and 26 on the Math.

Which one of these should I include in my package? Also, do they look at the other portions I took? I kind of just doodled in the science portion.

Thanks for the help!

Hey guys, I'm applying for the second time and although last years numbers were discouraging I am more than ready to submit another package. Got a few additions to strengthen it even more in hopes that they are the difference maker in selection!

I didn't have have a warefare qual, NAM, or an associates degree when I applied. Your ACT and ASTB scores are both quite a bit higher than mine too. My evals look about the same as yours. I applied for Pilot and Core and was selected my first time for Pilot.

Point is... anything is possible and you made the right choice in applying. I was worried too because of the same points you mentioned. Make sure your package is as strong as possible, no grammar errors, and follows the guidelines in the instruction.

Best of luck!!

ALCON,

After talking with alot of officers that were selected for STA-21 , and finally ODA; please ensure that your PFA scores are the right ones. here is what ODA sent me Via email about the PRIMS data "
We receive the report all the time. The report has your name, last 4, etc., at the top, below that it has your command's name, below that it has the cycle number, below that the body composition, and below that the PRT identifying each detail with RAW scores and grade for each and an overall grade. Below that it has the next cycle, and below that the last cycle. PRIMS is supposed to be standard at every command. However, if for some reason you cannot pull the report, have your PRT coordinator type the info on command letterhead and have the XO sign it."
