Hey all,

Anyone know of any recent track select results for AF VT-3 guys. I'm looking for info on those who wanted (and were eligible) 38's and how many actually received it.

Peace,

THRILLER

Ive heard from similar things from AF guys at 3 now (1 or 2 per month for the rest of the FY)... said something about them cutting back slots AF wide. Just like everything else, needs of the service and your timing...

Ouch!

Based on rumors out there for us AF types...Have you heard any forcast on future 38 drops? I Commission in about 6 months and have no clue as to when I'll start Primary. Any rumor (or educated guesses) on how far these 38 drop shortages will last?

Peace,

Dude, quit worrying about the drop and just kick ass when you're in primary. The guys that obsess about it so much often times don't end up getting it. The drops are out of your control, the only that is in your control is how well you do. Do that, and the rest just might fall into place.

Why don't you all post usefull information about the drops or not post at all...no one needs advice on motivation or statistics! Especially from people who aren't in Air Force/VT-3 and don't even understand the topic being discussed!!!

Understand the topic being discussed? I understand quite well thanks. I just selected 2 months ago. Granted I'm not AF, but its the same principle. The week before I selected 5 dudes got jets, my week there was one spot. And there were at least 4 guys that had jet grades. So it doesn't matter what the drop is, you can't plan for it. And in case you hadn't noticed, this is a Navy oriented site, so a lot of us don't have the inside info on AF selects. Thanks, but I know damn well what I'm talking about.

Maybe its the fact that the question is strangely similar to "what percentage get jets" that provokes such responses. Even with my limited Airwarriors and military experience, I can understand the frustration...

Considering your going to be training with the Navy and going to be subjet to way the NSS for selections many of us definately understand the topic being discussed...welcome to the world we live in all of the time.

Dude, go back to baseops. This guy is 6 MONTHS FROM COMMISSIONING!! I mean my god, he could get stashed for a year, then start primary/upt. And he's worrying about what's going to happen like this time next YEAR!! You make me laugh, so do your blue leisure suits.

When I commissioned t-45 slots were next to impossible to get in the navy. Complete opposite situation with the marines. Same way once I began primary at whiting. About half way through primary the navy started handing out more jet spots and the marines nearly shutdown the pipeline. So you never know. I can tell you that I thought and worried a lot about how many jet slots would be open when I selected(not to the point to where I lost focus). You can never know though, but its just natural to worry. When your not studying and practicing someone else probably is. Primary is usually 5 to 7 months, thats not long. So work your butt off from beginning to end and it should work out.

I just sit back and laugh...Here-if you think we don't know about the topic, I've taken out all the hard work so you can find out for yourselves. Call this number, and ask for the CO. (850) 623-7323 The current VT-3 CO is a USAF 16 driver. I'm sure he'd be happy to entertain your questions, though maybe not so much the attitude. What do the rest of you guys who are in primary, advanced, or further think? When I was in VT-3, what Sivers said above held true. Trying to guess what happened for the next graduating class, let alone 6-12 months down the road, was impossible. I had a good friend who started at VT-3 about the time I was in RI's. He OBSESSED about jet drops for a couple months, until we finally got him to believe the advice above: worry about flying, get the best grades you can, and the rest will come. If you can't bear the thought of flying anything without a pointy nose, recheck your priorities.

Can't we talk about more important stuff, like the fact I got fitted for a Combat Edge mask today, and man is it comfortable.<------tooting my own horn.
