Urban Legends

How was that book. Saw the author on Daily Show and it looked pretty interesting.

I liked it. It's a history book, so it can read slow at times, but it's packed full of great information and really makes you feel how the first year of the war was so desperate and really came down to the wire. I highly recommend it for anyone here. George Washington was bad ass.

Borrowed it from my roommate and never noticed, but I'm pretty sure Fly is right. Interesting. As far as the book goes, it really does bring to light how close things were and how Washington, though lionized today, really came close to screwing away the entire war, finding himself trying to get his army out of Brooklyn to the mainland while the Royal Navy tried to cut him off. Long story short, as I read it, if the winds and tides had been different, no more Continental Army. That's how close we came. I'd recommend it; very good read.

From what one of my history profs. in college said, the Original G.W. was a badass in all sense of the word. He was a good tactician, inovative agriculturalist, forward-thinker, and a total pimp with the ladies. Apparently, George and Martha used to correspond frequently with borderline pornographic love letters, as well as host parties that could best be described as swinger parties. A true American hero. (Not to be confused with Great American Hero, the tv series.)

No, Chuck Norris is just George Washington reincarnated.

No. Chuck was never born, he just was, and it was good. He really was George Washington. We just know him today as Chuck Norris. He never dies. He just changes his name every 100 years or so to avoid suspicion.

Actually, if you want to get technical about it, Chuck Norris was every true American Hero since the Revolutionary War. His beard created the stories in our history books.

Would you say he was a Chuck Norris in a tri point cap?

Yeesh. It's like a virus that spreads and contaminates random threads. Come to think of it, if no one escapes it, does that mean Chuck Norris created the Spanish Inquisition?

^ Not necessary.

Chuck Norris's brain housing group is fast enough to immediately detect when his Name is written, typed, spoken, or thought of...or even thought of being thought of.

There's already a thread for this, guys!

C'mon, the urban legends are interesting. Keep 'em comin.
Ya, the omipotence of Chuck Norris is not myth nor legend.

How about that no one, even the CO of the ship walks under the rotor arc without the LSE's permission and that the troubleshooters or line rats can tackle him to prevent him from doing it? The XO of the Forrestal didn't think that it was funny when he got tackled in 85.
