Cool clip Heyjoe. I especially like the part at 1:40 where the shot was taken out of the back of a COD.![]()
My favorite head-on shot taken from COD ramp in 1983 in the IO. Took endless weeks to convince CAG to let us do it.

Aaaaannnnndddd there it is again: that feeling that I was born 10 to 20 years too late.
Only a few will fly it.......

I always understood that to be Heater's shot. Was he in the COD or did someone else take it and allowed him to put it in his book? Growing up, I had this poster hanging in my room. It's probably still in a closet somewhere here. Very cool pic.
Huh, I could have sworn that was in there. I'll have to break out that book and look through it just for old time's sake.
Actually, now that you mention it, I noticed the Diamondback markings. I think I was confusing myself between Heater (whom I've never met) and "Boomer" Stufflebeem, whose family was a friend of my family and gave me some great tours while I was growing up. Both were a big inspiration as a youngin'.
"Boomer" is not a shooter.
20 years too late and an inch too tall... That is one airplane i've always wanted to fly. Beautiful, just beautiful.
