Most of the T-39 drivers are retired 0-6's. One of the senior guys (a relative term since they are all "experienced") I flew with last week was Air Ops on Ranger in '72, Doug B, former West Coast A-4 driver.

Good bunch of guys.

Doug B. close Bud of mine from flt trng & 1st Sqdn (VA-94) '58-'61. He's my age & still flying contract. Just has to continue to pass Pflite Physicals! Must have 1/2 zillion jet hrs by now, lol. Attached pic of Doug on my wing on a flight out of home base NAS Alameda, over the San Joacquin Valley (1959).:D

We had a slight variation to your morning ritual of the CUBI hop: a cup of 'Joe, a chocolate covered doughnut, and a cigarette ... we usually puked the night before.

I found a cigar took too long to smoke during preflight ... :D

Some pictures of a NEW EA-18G Growler from VAQ-129 at NAS Pensacola. It still had that new car smell. I've never seen a jet so clean!!
