Just wanted to share my experience here in case it helps someone avoid some frustration.
In all my research before getting LASIK in hope of getting a pilot slot, I knew to save every bit of documentation from my ophthalmologist, but I was unaware that the only paperwork MEPS was concerned with was their LASIK Worksheet. Its a single page document with your pre-op measurements, post-op measurements, then post-op measurements from thirty days after the first checkup. The post-ops should include refraction measurements, not just eye chart tests. Because my eyes were healthy and I had 20/20 based on chart tests, I didn’t ask for refractions post-op. This meant I had to go back for two more checkups with my ophthalmologist thirty days apart, thus delaying my Physical Qualification from MEPS by a month. Had my recruiter made me aware of this simple requirement, I would probably be at board right now, and not waiting until who knows when for the next board.
TL;DR: Make sure your ophthalmologist is doing refractions at your post-ops! They should take an extra 60 seconds.
Hopefully this helps someone!
