When I was in SF last month, we went to this Peruvian joint and we got the Ceviche platter which came with about eight different versions of citrus and cream based ceviche - some spicy, others more sweet and fruity. They also offered a flight of five sparkling white wines from Spain, Italy and S. America, which we enjoyed, and a more delicious meal, I can not recall. I'm a big fan of the small plate tapas style eating.

You are my hero. As a fellow Foodie, that sounds amazing.

I'm a firm believer that fish should be eaten raw 80% of the time. At least somewhat raw (Seared works).

What restaurant was this?

Place was called "Limon" in the Mission on Valencia - definitely check it out if you're up that way.

A couple Italian dishes are made with raw meat. It's not as wierd as you'd think.
Funny how developing a taste for sushi will convince you quite thoroughly that not everything needs to be cooked . . .

I love sushi. San Diego was my favorite place to get great sushi. Anymore, the sushi I get comes from Publix.

Pensacola Fish House is still my favorite sushi place. Very limited selection, but my god, fresh and delicious. The Spicy Tuna Roll is the best EVER there.

Spicy tuna roll is my favorite as well, no matter where I go. I can always depend on my wife letting me have the whole roll to myself :D On that note, Joe Patti's down on the P-cola waterfront used to make fresh sushi every Saturday. Good stuff!

I know it's a sin, but I never checked out Joe Patti's :(

That place was the bomb. There's a place here in SD kind of like that - Pt. Loma Seafoods - where I get most of my fresh fish. They do great lunch fare as well. Pretty much any kind of seafood you can think of - multiple kinds of tuna and salmon as well as all manner of shellfish.

Some jars of Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter have been tainted with salmonella. .....I just found out that I ate a recently ate a whole jar of recalled peanut butter.....

Not to worry ... most Naval Aviators and those who have the requisite qualities will just belch it off .... consider it preparation for monkey meat on a stick when you join the Fleet.

^^ Hey, at least now there's Seabolts in the O.H. Before that, you were at the mercy of Albertson's. With all the great seafood in the area, there should be more fresh seafood joints. For a while, the only way to get good Dungeness was to dive in Coronet Bay and collect the critters by hand as they mill about on the bottom.

I love sushi......

Best sushi EVER ... no exceptions ... Roy's .... Ko'Olina (or) Hawaii Kai.

If you go in there "not liking sushi" ... you will come out a believer. If you go in "liking" sushi ... you will come out a disciple. A Priest, if you will .... of sushi.

As pathetic as this may sound, I first enjoyed sushi in P-cola, at the urging of a female fellow Ensign less than 10 years ago. At least she was good for something.

Funny. The first time I had sushi was in Pensacola as well. In fact, it was at Atlas Oyster House with our very own former Mefesto.
