Salmonella in peanut butter....

Some jars of Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter have been tainted with salmonella. Jars that carry a code starting with 2111 have been recalled. I just found out that I ate a recently ate a whole jar of recalled peanut butter. It would definitely not be cool having Salmonellosis at the beginning of OCS.....

Hahaha, well it took a few days. I figured it'd be a good source of protein and calories to help me (however insignificant) put some meat on my bones by the end of the month. But I didn't think I'd be risking severe diarrhea or hospitalization.

You can ingest salmonella and not get sick, in fact many healthy people will not be affected by it. Usually those who end up in the hospital are young, old, or those with suppressed immune systems.

So true, I knew this Belgian chick, who loved raw meat (lol), it used to weird me out, but when I finally tried it out it wasn't really that bad, although I still like my steaks medium rare:D

A couple Italian dishes are made with raw meat. It's not as wierd as you'd think.

Isn't that like steak tartar?? BTW....stick with natty peanut butter without the sugar....much better for you. You have to put it in the fridge and the oil seperates out of it, though.

What is this, the hippy health hour? :D Perhaps you have some advice on colon cleansing, yes? The radio station I listen to has this infomercial-like show on every Saturday when I wake up. I get out of the shower and they're still talking about cleansing their colons. WTF?

KFMB? I hear that tripe every Saturday morning, too - they try to pass it off as a call-in show.

It's probably the same show on multiple stations, as it's on 103.7 Free FM as well. If I were smart, I'd devise a clever crank call, but alas...

Steak tartar is good. I had tuna tartar too. Mmm.

When I was in SF last month, we went to this Peruvian joint and we got the Ceviche platter which came with about eight different versions of citrus and cream based ceviche - some spicy, others more sweet and fruity. They also offered a flight of five sparkling white wines from Spain, Italy and S. America, which we enjoyed, and a more delicious meal, I can not recall. I'm a big fan of the small plate tapas style eating.
