I know this thread is old, but for those of us still running

Some good songs:

Annie Lennox - Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)
Aerosmith-Sing for the Moment
Booker T and the MG's - Green Onions
Bruce Springsteen - I'm on Fire
From the Austin Powers Soundtrack - I touch Myself -- LOL this is a funny one to run to

Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out
GNR - Welcome to the Jungle
GNR - Sweet Child of Mine
GNR- Paradise City
John Cougar Melloncamp - Small Town
New Radicals - You Get What You Give So good, so good.
Phantom Planet - California
Many Red Hot Chili Peppers Songs
Rolling Stones, among the many, "Monkey Man"
Styx - Renegade
The Who - Baba O'Riley
Third Eye Blind - New Girl
Third Eye Blind- Graduate another good one
Third Eye Blind - Faster
Third Eye Blind - Semi Charmed Life
Tom Petty- Free Falling
Yellowcard - Miles Apart

and of course The Top Gun Theme Song!

for me techno like house or drums and bass is good for me to run with, or Velvet Revolver, Metallica, or something like that you know the kind of music that gets your
heart beating just listening to it.
but I only run with music when I am at sea and have to run on a tread mill, other than that I run 3 miles twice a day. and do it with out headphones, something about the beating of your heart and panting that will motivate you all on it's own.

I'm no fan of rap, but don't get me wrong Geto Boys - "Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangster" is a great song. Everyone thinks it's such a bad song, but listen to or read the lyrics, and it's about being a good guy. A good song for a long run without too much sprinting.
