What about the -60s, or the T-45s? I think the point I'm trying to make is that it depends on the context. If I'm referring to the radome as a specific, discrete part of the aircraft, then I would use the term radome: "Hey dude, there's a serious dent in the radome on that jet." On the other hand, if I'm referring to the aircraft in general, it is more appropriate to refer to it as the nose: "Hey dude, we are in a serious nose-low attitude right now," or: "Dude, he's bringing the nose around for a shot."
