WOW! that's crazy. He seemed to be somewhat on glideslope up until the very end and he just DROPPED! It seems as if he cut power and just dropped but I know you go full power for landings. What did they find happened?

That's why there are so many "come down to land (CDTL)" and NEPIC or SAR comments from the LSO's. All you non-carrier types can try and figure out the last two. Answers later in the thread.

It happens from time to time. Guys who can't seem to "get" the boat or are unsafe will get the propper attention. I've seen fleet guys have to go back through a RAG CQ phase and others who had to choose another platform or designator. One Marine Prowler pilot who DQ'd twice during RAG CQ became an ECMO.

Interesting. Do you know how much of the NFO pipeline he had to go through? Or was it just like, BAM! Herpes! and he became an ECMO? Just curious.
