Yeah, I think that’s right. In older pictures, I remember seeing ‘rate’ on the right arm, and ‘hash marks’ on the left arm.
And before Flugelman says anything, my rate badge was on my left arm.

Edit:RIGHT ARM RATES--established in 1841 and disestablished 2 April 1949, originally signified men of the Seaman branch. During WWII these rates included Boatswains Mate, Turret Captain, Signalman, Gunners Mate, Fire Controlman, Quartermaster, Mineman, and Torpedomans Mate. Other ratings wore rates on the left sleeve
Our buddy here, Ernest, was a Gunners Mate.
Aww shucks, and here I thought I had an opportunity to impress w/ my knowledge, and not my abilities with googleYes, being a right arm rate adds a little to the legacy of a rate. Maybe this is why I think tradition is a good thing, and am also hoping that the latest fight for an old uniform is won.
note: the fc in my name stands for Fire ControlmanNo, I'm not a spy, I just worked on the radar

So you are the guy to blame when we fly a little close to the A. Burke's and my nuts start to tingle? Turn that thing off once in a while!
