What we're saying is woe be to the poster who does not treat footage of fallen comrades with the respect it deserves. If learning can be had, that's one thing. Four fellow aviators lost their lives in this incident, and this isn't Fark where jackass comments would be tolerated.

Just for the record -- I got nothing out of the tape. Theoretically, there should have been enough time to clear the landing area in a finite sense. There wasn't ... obviously ... that's the 'real' world.

A "FOULED DECK" followed by a "WAVE-OFF, FOULED DECK!!" call from any one of multiple sources is what customarily prevents tragedies like this one from happening. A carrier deck is at once the most exciting and most dangerous place in the world you will ever visit. Everyone MUST do their jobs and focus, or the machine breaks down and people will die.
