MV-22 Osprey

Clearly this is an emerging capabilities for Marines. Keeps coming up in various PA media outlets. It's a good thing to see new things being tried and the old saying "see what sticks".
I think it’s also part of a much wider PR campaign to message back towards China that the magazine depth and capabilities for injecting problems in any of their 5 approaches to Taiwan might be more difficult than they originally thought.

There’s a reason we started messaging “Hellscape” out in the open. That’s a pretty naked statement/threat to help encourage them to find another way.

Nacelle Improvement Program

Glad to see (per the PDF right above my comment) we're finally getting nacelle improvement under the umbrella of the MV-specific upgrade programs. Until now only the AFSOC CVs have been reaping any benefit. And as any Osprey aircrew can tell you, the stuff in the nacelles is really what likes to break a lot. Blade fold components, ice protection, torque and flapping sensors, and other such wiring. Right now it is simply unreliable and just awful to work on from a maintenance perspective.

H-1s are getting a slew of mid-life upgrades as well.

More info on planned upgrades to the V-22 in the 2027 budget docs. V-22 info starts on page 727. https://www.secnav.navy.mil/fmc/fmb/Documents/27pres/APN_BA5_Book.pdf
Let's be clear this is the *proposed* budget by the Executive Branch of government.

The budget proposal by the House and Senate after conference will likely be significantly different. And getting to a NDAA appropriation will be a whole thing different again. There will be plenty of things Congress insists on and plenty of things Special Interests demand, that DoW/DoD does not want, etc. And things that DoW/DoD want that Congress and Special Interests will oppose.
