can of worms opening??

He does bring up a point. Some posters in this thread state that wearing NA/NFO wings with EAWS would like weird or be overkill. I wonder if those same people thought the same with NA/NFO and AirCrew? Wearing the NAC wings with the other pins is probably more accepted cause people have always done it.

Aircrew insignia had the name change to Naval Aircrew Warfare Specialist. There is no longer a (9) like above. Here is a link to the change http://www.npc.navy.mil/NR/rdonlyres/C5553DC6-8FE4-4041-B2FB-47266630B788/0/1220020.pdf

The message that allows the wearing of 2 pins is here http://www.npc.navy.mil/NR/rdonlyres/EE484D65-76B7-4F55-B27E-459736164656/0/NAV09271.txt . After reading the to links again I now think NA/NFO wings replace the NAC wings. My reason for this is the renaming to Naval Aircrew Warfare Specialist and that it is now in the Aviation Warfare group.

It was an admittedly poor attempt at humor...I'm holding out for when we get assimilated under one breast warfare insigdevicia so everybody will feel good about themselves....equally....and justice for all....:D

Officer insignia take precedence. The breast insignia section of the uniform regs is like a five minute read and it spells all this out.

Doesn't it also say that whatever warfare device for the billet you're currently filling takes precedence? Not really applicable for Priors, but on the Enlisted side of the house, if you have fish, and your surface pin, you wear the surface pin on top when serving on a surface ship and dolphins on top when you're serving on a sub.

Ya, there's a ton of different scenarios in there. IMO, having so many warfare pins you don't know which ones to wear isn't that big of a problem to have.

I am sure I speak for many a prior, but it wouldn't matter to me if my chest looked like overkill or weird if I have a chance to wear wings of gold over my EAWS. Like the NAC guys and gals who earned their pins, I haven't met anyone who does not take pride in their EAWS. As I said, if I get a chance to earn my gold wings, I will gladly wear my silver wings beneath em

On Friday, I will proudly be sporting my NAC wings when I get my new ones, except they will be on the bottom this time.

Using this logic, does an NFO retread then have to replace his NFO wings with his newly earned, superior NA wings? :D

Before the change the answer would be yes. Now you can wear 2 in the same group. Just can't wear the Officer version of the enlisted pin with the enlisted pin.

Had a fellow JO point out to me that the NA pin is not Officer designated. Even when there were enlisted flyers they wore the same wings. Just something to think about.

I was relieved when they changed the "two pins" rule...it seems I underestimated the endurance of retarded Navy rules.

This is just idiotic. If you rate it, wear it. Two pins max so we don't wind up looking like the Army. This rule never made any sense to me and the change-not-change dance that's going on now makes even less sense.
