Thanks guys, sorry for my choice of words.

I don't have a CV NATOPS handy, but I remember it varying from @ 5 miles way out (30-50 miles) to 1 1/2 miles on the ball call. Depends on your relative approach position in the chain and your speed. How much time is there in the interval [Case III at night] usually? I saw 1:20 [].
STUPID QUESTION ALERT!!!
Can any other communities screen for Deep Draft Command like aviators can?
Who is the top-dog SWO on a carrier?
Other than squadron X/CO's, how many O-5/6/+ are on "the boat," and what do they do?

^What's HAC stand for?
At least in the USMC, you have a formation maybe once or twice a week. As long as you can maintain some semblence of discipline (i.e. standing straight with your feet together and your hands at your side) no one notices your drill. Longest formations are monthly promotion/awards formations. My squadron broke it up and would do promotions one day, awards/meritorious promotions the next. Here's one:
After OCS, how much marching/drill actually goes on in the aviation community? I know for formal events/weddings there might be some sword swinging here and there, but how often do you guys actually "form up"?
I have not used my sword outside of TBS other than for weddings. Well that, and to pass the time while in Iraq. Seriously. We'd trade off rifle PT and sword manual. Gotta stay sharp...![]()
