Boyd, have you ever heard of sarcasm or jokes? I thought the parenthetical I put on the "search" post made it clear the post was in jest. Guess I'll put an actual disclaimer on my posts from now on.

General Knowledge/Procedures - 3 - Remarks: SNA needs work on use of sarcasm in the written form. Chairfly the post next time or better yet, don't post at all.

HW/SA - 2 -UNSAT - Remarks: SNA attempted humor but failed to meet ready room standards. Additionally, said douche called his IP by his first name in the debrief.

No training deficiencies noted so no ETs warranted. Proceed to IPC.

I have a long list of things to look forward to when I come home. I just added finding you to the list.

Hey guys I drank alot last night. I did overreact. I did because I put time an effort into something and didnt get the results I expected. I am a physics major. But I have no previous background in Aviation or Ships. Looking back at it I dont think the reading section through me off or spatial. When i took practice tests. I got like 20/30 correct on avg with math and 17/30 on mech and same with nautical/aviation. I think that is what fucked my scores over. Anyways I am sorry for being a bitch. This was also my first post and it was a poor way to introduce myself.

My real question is HOW should i prepare better for these tests? and is a week really enough to prepare? Will the AFOQT be even harder?

Cheers

Please read the posts... Others (including myself) have already indicated how you should prepare. Do you want this? If yes, you will have to work at it. You need to begin by SEARCHING this forum (a good place to start is the LINK I have already given you). A week is enough for some people. For others NO. You are in the "others" category. It isn't saying you are not a smart individual or anything like that. It just means you are unfamiliar with military testing and preparation. I studied for 3 days. But I had served 5 years in the Navy and a understanding of what is expected by SEARCHING THESE FORUMS FIRST. Hopefully you are getting the HINT! ;)...

Is the AFOQT harder? Once again... To some it is to others not so much. Some people do better on the AFOQT then the ASTB others do better on the ASTB than the AFOQT... The tests are similar in several sections but the AFOQT has some different sections just like the ASTB. Good Luck!

So the scoring on the AQT/FAR of the 90's is the exactally the same as he ASBT??? How is the test different? Why the new name?

Wudges, you are hereby appointed as my official Airwarriors R/R search function. Find me the answers, post me a link to enlighten while you are not "clock started, starter on, 12 volts, ignition light on, fuel pressure light out, oil pressure indicated"-ing.... or "flopping, chopping or dropping".

Do you have an ethnic background? Reason I'm asking is your first sentence in bold above sucks. Also you don't typically capitalize any words at the beginning of a sentence as I have observed in your other posts.

I think in the other thread someone said he was probably Nigerian and earned his degree there as well.

IMHO, the AFOQT was a harder test overall. However.... it isn't so much about how well you do on the test, rather how well you against everyone else taking it. The timing portion of the AFOQT, I found to be a little bit more tricky... however, that can work to your advantage depending on how everyone else takes the test.

Don't overcomplicate the Math and you'll be fine. Know basic formulas cold. If you have time to kill, you may want to audit a College Algebra class or something to go back over the basics. Most all of the aviation knowledge questions (at least like 2-3 years ago) were almost verbatim from the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test - the answers to which can be found in the Gleim study guide.

Don't beat yourself up over it, just study and get 'er done.

Where can I get my hands on a FAA private Pilot Knowledge Test and Gleim Study guide?

cheers

Seriously man, you can't possibly be that lazy. And ignorance is no excuse in this day in time w/ technology and everything else at our hands.

Go to google or bing or whatever search engine.

Do that and then open a new tab w/ Amazon.com.

In whatever search engine you use to look up porn with, type in "FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test" and then "Gleim Study Guide ASTB" and see what happens and pops up.

Do the same thing in Amazon.

Rocket surgery ladies and gentlemen.

He might just start asking where he can find porn..:bigeyes_1

No one is going to baby you, hold your hand and show you where this and that is. Google is a search engine...simply typing what you're looking for will more than likely give you your answer.

Use the search function. There's a lot of information on the board and google. For instance, I found this within .16 seconds after googling "ASTB scoring".

(Pumped I got to say that to an established member of the board, hahahaha).

You sound like an effing nerd.

Yep. I've been suffering from "Foot in mouth" disease lately. Sorry for the threadjack where I made an ass of myself. I'll go back to the "lurk > post" methodology.

Boyd's on the hunt for you.. Nice job.

Nope...changed my mind. Too easy...see below.

He's waiting in Corpus.

Yep. I went to school in Nashville.

I'm an NROTC guy, too...

One call to Richard (who used to work for me) in TW-4 STUCON or Maria (she worked for me too) in the NAPP office is all it takes. I'd have them do a search in TIMS for the Vandy ROTC guy awaiting training. I thought about having someone say hello to him from me at muster or maybe an extra WDO watch or two, but I'm getting soft. He got the point. Maybe we caught this one early enough. We'll see...
