My bad, forgot the online resource that was right under my nose

Though it seems like it would be awkward reading it here, then getting that call and having to act surprised. I have a feeling I would sound like one of those people on the Antiques Roadshow who find out the creepy ivory voodoo goblet they inherited from Uncle Jim is worth $500k...;)

The wait is a killer. This is worse than waiting for advancement results. At least then you are already in the door and just waiting to go up the ladder. Hopefully this week though, The OR said he cannot see a reason why it wouldnt be this week.

Looking through the posts I dont think I've seen any Seabee Rates post outside of CEC. I guess it isnt surprising considering there are something like three times as many "Culinary Specialists" than all Seabee rates combined. I just thought it was interesting to note, not because anyone will actually care. I wonder how many prior service, current service there are competing in this board. I would like to think that the awards and experience and deployment upon deployment mean something in these boards when the decisions are made. Anyway just a little bit of conversation while waiting for the grass to grow.

It would be impossible to tell how many were prior service without sitting on the board, or having access to everyone's application. As far as active duty sailors from the spring selection board goes:
Pilot: 4 selected, 3 not selected
NFO: 6 selected, 5 not selected
SWO 19 selected, 24 not selected

Based on that, I could only assume that a sailor with a solid application has a pretty good shot at getting picked up... Hopefully Wednesday will be our day to find out...purely speculation though...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's going to be this week. Everytime the phone rings I hope it's the recruiter with good news. I feel like that south park episode with cartman waiting for the wii to come out. The wait is definitely a killer!

FS SNA - OCS 02 Dec 2012
I am very curious to see how many people they are going to pick up with this board, I remember seeing somewhere someone saying this is the first board they have ADDED in like 3 years, they normally just get canceled. That coupled with the fact the last board picked up a ton of people and the quality of the packages was called out as well. Seems like a recipe for success for us, but I guess time will tell… unless someone has some insider info and feels like sharing. :)

I like your optimism and I hope the board has shown mercy on us poor souls but who knows maybe we will find out today:) I would like to go into the weekend without being depressed.

Here was the data from another thread as of June 1st: NFO - goal of 32, 26 identified, Pilot - goal of 206, 122 identified, SWO - goal of 133, 121 identified.

From what I've gathered being an avid reader of AW, that tells us that the quotas for this board are not going to be as nearly as high as they were earlier in the year. I had also read that the reason that they added this board was that they didn't pick up as many applicants in the April board as they wanted to because many of the applicants didn't meet the "competitive profile" that they were looking for.

The goal for pilot stated above could increase depending on how many individuals were NPQed since those numbers were released. However, most SNA selects that are NPQed typically go NFO and then the goal for that designator drops.

EDIT: The goal numbers aren't going to change, but the number of Qualified individuals for that designator changes and makes the difference between goal and identified a smaller number is what I'm trying to get at.

I think I have seen these numbers in a previous thread from back in the spring boards when they first released the FY13 quotas. I am just going to try and wait it out and not think on it too much, the numbers do nothing but drive everyone crazy. By this time the board has seen and decided on all of us already, we are just the last in a long line to know whats going on.

So, they are looking for roughly 80 pilots from OCS? Assuming the first 120 were taken from NROTC/Academy? How many people apply for OCS per board? I thought I heard some low number, like only 250 applicants. But at the same time, nation wide, I would imagine at least double that. Then there will inevitably be some DQ's after MEPS. Thank god I've already done that, was really sweating the vision test (20/40 uncorrected each eye).

But, yeah, all I can do to calm the nerves is go out and run. I shaved another 10 seconds off my 1.5 this morning.

Those numbers only pertain to OCS. NROTC/Academy have their own quotas.

What are you at for PRT Scores I did a timed last week and went 90,90 and 9:35 for the run. I have been racing in those minimalist shoes and I heard they are banned at OCS. I can see why though when I first started in them I had some slow days getting accustomed to that kind of running shoe.

I've got a long way to go with PT. I have been running for a few weeks now. My best 1.5 is around 11:35, but it's on a country road with some hills and things. I need to get out to an actual track and see what I can do. I'm going to start easing my way into the pushups and situps, but as of right now I'm at square one.

Pro-Rec SNA & SNFO
I wasn't really sweating the pro-rec response since I am disqualified, but I'm going back to MEPS for an ophthalmologist consult... anxious again.
