Hot new helicopter/rotorcraft news

So we've spent the day in the office with an F-16 guy who says this is the future of personnel recovery... And apparently navair is already leading with this technology

The Army has identified the two aviators lost in recent AH-64 crash down in Texas. Fittingly, for a helicopter pilot, one of the crew had the last of Huey.

This was a very controversial move in AF land. Procuring additional MH-139 was considered a non-starter for some reason. In a high density pax (e.g. offshore) configuration the 139 would be ideal.

The AF HH-60W is the *only* CSAR helicopter in US military inventory. To use this aircraft for a domestic non-combat continuity of government mission seems illogical.

These will replace the 24 Hueys that stand rapid alert 24/7/365 that while beautifully maintained are barely capable at mission weight.

FWIW: MH-60S’s piloted by Navy HSC are absolutely considered Primary CSAR as well.
