It’s true.

I left active duty and went straight to a GS-13 position. Did that for a while with the task force and left. Too much bureaucracy for me.

Now I frost cupcakes at the local Whole Foods. There’s a technique. It pays well too.

Because it's a GS-15 equivalent job in the DC area. That's as high as it goes for the non-SES scale.

I considered throwing my hat in the ring but I don't have the requisite course design chops.

I have found that across agencies (DOD and DHS), a dedicated IP role is classified as a GS-13 by OPM - and then service/locality/experiential deltas added to come up woth the payscale for a given job - but its seems to center around GS-13.

Low? The average Think Tank pay for a good internationalist is $60K, the average pay for a full professor non-STEM Ph.D. averages $99K…don’t be puttin’ on airs.

I met King Air / C-12 IP's that are DAC's (department of The Army Civ's) that are making north of $150K
