Over Macho Grande?

Not bar related, but I had never seen "Zero Hour!" before, until a couple of months ago. For what it is, it's not a bad flick. But I appreciated it much more being intimately familiar with "Airplane."

Both of them came from the same studio, but the connection between the two scripts and the copyright issues were a little more complicated than that.

I'm a big fan of Police Squad! That series was cut short, too soon. The execs thought that TV audiences were too dumb to get the jokes.

I guess along the lines of Thunderball and You Only Live Twice, although the circumstances were a little different..

Was doing a little more reading and I think this is the highlight of the Wiki:

Graves rejected the script at first, considering it tasteless. On the DVD commentary, Abrahams said, "I don't understand. What did he think was tasteless about pedophilia?"

I'm also a bit disappointed I never saw the Delta safety video with Kareem while flying. I guess that was right after I PCS'ed and didn't need to fly as much. (Video also includes the on-going no smoking finger wag gag)

That's great! I don't know how I missed it too.

(Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes.)

If you are on I-95, say between Norfolk and Jax, and looking for something that is quick but not fast food, definitely recommend D&H BBQ in Manning, SC (near exit 119 on I-95). Food ranges from borderline unhealthy to aren’t you glad the hospital is next door. Pulled pork BBQ is slow, Slow, SLOW cooked with vinegar / black pepper sauce on the tables, rice, hash (if you don’t know what hash is, don’t ask…), sweet potatoes, spot-on fried chicken, hush puppies, mac & cheese for the little ones. Lima beans and/or collard greens. Pecan pie for dessert.

And for an example of how the BBQ is cooked, Rodney Scott’s restaurant down the road in Hemingway is the same and representative of the style and taste.

So it's north of the mustard zone?

It’s all in the “Not Texas, wrong animal” zone so it’s inferior

Your Texas spots are welcome here… the recent BBQ series on Netflix was tough to watch, in a good way (part of Chef’s Table franchise I believe? By and large, amazing food porn).
