Ugh, threadjacked by a PAO applicant. :D

In all seriousness, over 90% of PAO-selects are either prior enlisted (mostly MC) or politically connected (Hunter Biden, Sean Spicer, etc.) If you are not one of those, you need to stand out, bc they typically only select 2-4 PAO applicants total per year.

I broke down and called my recruiter today after realizing he didn't have my new cell phone number. He hasn't heard anything yet on when results will be out but also didn't say anything about delays into next month so fingers crossed for tomorrow or early next week!

If selected, would anyone else be drilling in Molesworth, UK?

Bummer on no news but fingers crossed for all of us! I’ll be in Arizona.

You should already know where you’d be drilling. It’s based on where you live.
There's no IWC activity at my local NOSC, and I'm otherwise halfway between (170mi or so) two that do, one of which is a NIOC. In my OIC interview I was told I'd likely be drilling at one of those, but it would depend on which designator I'm selected for.

Makes sense. Well good luck to you! I know we are all pretty eager for some news at this point!

the NIOC would be your best bet professionally and you should get IDTT orders for each drill weekend which would cover your travel each month. I had to do this my first year when I was a new 1835 because Reserve NIOBC was at the region. I chose to drive each month (3-4 hours each way) because it was not far enough away to justify the flight time and associated hassles.

Yep mines an 11 hour drive but its a pretty quick (and cheap) flight from Germany over to the UK so that'll be the route I take most likely.

@keystone I just noticed he said UK so your per diem response finally, 2 hours later, registers as a joke to me lol. It was 5 am here in Az when I first saw it so I thought it said KY (Kentucky) for some reason! Agreed, if I have to drill in the UK there better be a darn good incentive haha.

Figured. Not to sound elitist, but luckily I am somewhat politically connected as I have 6+ years in govt/legislative affairs and serve as press secretary for a member of congress. I don’t think I’m a shoe-in, recognizing the amount of competition there is.

Not to get too political, but I wouldn’t lump Hunter and Sean into the same group ?. Sean commissioned in the late 90’s while he was a lowly congressional staffer. Hunter commissioned because of daddy’s name and power. Big difference.

The guy was a turd and should never have been provided the opportunity. Glad he popped positive on his first drill weekend. Now there's a photo floating around with him sleeping with a crack/meth pipe in his mouth.

I am of the opinion that people like him and elected officials should not be permitted to even apply for DCO let alone serve. Creates way too much drama for little gain. Nothing like being at Andrews and seeing an Ensign being escorted around NOSC check-in by a Chief/Senior Officer.

What I dislike most about it is that he took a selection spot away from someone else who was more qualified.
