Future of flying (f-35/p-8 questions)

Here is the latest update pertaining to the VQ community. The plan is to replace all EP-3E aircraft with the MQ-8B Firescout and BAMS (RQ-4N Global Hawk) by 2020.

...undoubtedly because of how well the Firescout and Global Hawk have proven themselves over the past few years.

This is probably similar to the transition when they got rid of the VS squadrons, that being said, if it is the same, how do you think this would affect the Pilots and NFO's in flight school and already at the EP-3 squadrons? I would think they would be pushed over the VP squadrons, however I am unfamiliar with the cross pollination of those two communities right now.
I am sure there are some former VS guys who might be gracious enough to provide me with some insight on what to expect if I choose that path (I go to flight school in late 2013).
