There's me on the right...Ft. Bragg field day. Somehow the ladies in 5th grade weren't too impressed with this fine Technical Sergeant.

I was in CAP in high school, we didn't have any JROTC's. It was a good alternative. There were definitely a good bunch of kids/adults who took themselves to seriously (cough cough HOMESCHOOLERS cough...). But there were also those who were just trying to prepare for bootcamp/OCS/academies. At the very least you learned how to spit shine shoes and march. There were a lot of opportunities for flight training for cheap, if not free.
