One of CAP's real success stories is this years Air Force Academy top graduate and Rhodes Scholar winner, Hila Levy. She was the CAP cadet of the year in 2004.

IFS complete, starting API June 26!
I was in CAP in high school, we didn't have any JROTC's. It was a good alternative. There were definitely a good bunch of kids/adults who took themselves to seriously (cough cough HOMESCHOOLERS cough...). But there were also those who were just trying to prepare for bootcamp/OCS/academies. At the very least you learned how to spit shine shoes and march. There were a lot of opportunities for flight training for cheap, if not free.
