blah blah blah.... You can't hire a bunch of little league umpires off the streets and expect to maintain the integrity of the game.

But I'm sure there are other professions that have gone on strike and their services/skill set were perfectly expendable. :D

What integrity they're all a bunch of amnesty granted steroid users.

But as you said it's just a "game"...like this.

I remember when the WNBA threatened to go on strike and the acting commissioner at the time (I believe it was David Stern, he does the NBA and did the WNBA while it was starting out) said if the players went on strike he would fold the league. So the WNBA players shut their mouths.

I actually think I make more than an WNBA basketball player.

This may surprise some of you, but I don't think anyone who works for 'tax dollars' -- either directly or via a gov't contract -- has the right to strike....Especially if it affects readiness or training ...

I don't think the law covers contractors. That doesn't mean that I believe they should strike, just what the law allows. There are probably provisions though to force them back to work in case of national emergency/interest.

I hunger should be enough motivation. :D

It's not like these motherfuckers have to worry about going on deployment and getting shot at, or getting plucked out of their duty station at random and sent on an IA/GSA.

Fire them all, start over.

I'd say in general, this is true... but having seen the linemen/fuel truck drivers/crew bus guys at vance, I'd have to throw the flag at this statement. Most are locals with no prior experience.

However, the sim guys (who aren't on strike) certainly fit this category.

I have to agree with Bubba on this one...the Sim guys were genuine fucking war hero's...F-4, B-52, F-14 types...

I'm sure there are some prior types on the line at Vance, but most of them I had serious reservations about their competency and sometimes soberness...now I don't even understand their motivation (money?)

FEFEA I say...

Ohh, and here are some random news articles covering the strike...I fucking hate these socialists bastards..

This makes me hope they give full cavity searches at the Industrial Gate:

Right on. It seems like every LSI (sim guy) here flew multiple airframes and are retired O-5s/O-6s. All the LSI guys also get two rides a year in the
T-6 so they provide excellent instructio on what to expect.

Get through OCS and API first. No need to rag on Vance. Its not that bad at all...plenty of places to have fun, and in terms of training, the AF has their shit together.

My fault for not updating my profile...I'm through OCS...API starts this Friday. I'm already slated for Vance.
