Dephyler and Bubblehead, great info!
There are prior enlisted in my classes. I don't know what their ratings were, but I believe that you'd still need to go through NITC if you were a prior IS. For example, the CNET IS courses are VERY different from the 1635 course work. The IS courses are required to be completed, but they aren't anything like what you get at NITC.
For those curious, IS = Intelligence Specialist. Enlisted intelligence personnel.
CNET is an online repository of paper based classes. It's different from a straight online course, but you do submit "bubble sheets" online. It's a very antiquated system, but it works.
Heyjoe, I didn't see the "construction" thread until after I posted this, and in turn, I posted there too just too to let someone know. But anyway, three things: 1) I am patient, sometimes2) it was a humorous suggestion - sorry if you took it seriously, and 2) I would absolutely, without a doubt, 100% go through withdrawls....
I'm still shaking and twitching from the lack of Chat box!
Dephyler,
I'm not liking the sound of that. I just hope the course work has changed, or this NEC* Totin' IS2 is going to get bored and frustrated really quick. I would be eager to hear what you find out from the prior enlisteds in your course.
The Enlisted side is a bit different. Also, if you are a new Intel Officer who was previously an enlisted IS, then the training may be a bit different.Ok new question. I've already spoken to my NIRR and he calls the training "NIOBC", not "NITC" or "NBIT". Also, I was told that the enlisted version got reduced to 12 months but the officer version was upped to 24 months. Can anyone confirm/deny this? Or elaborate?
Appreciated,
Charlie
